Abstract

Isotopic composition (delta18O and delta2H) in stream water, springs, groundwater, and precipitation was acquired for 2006-2008 to understand the impact of declining snowpack on hydrometeorologic and hydrologic processes in the mid Merced River catchment (1,873 km2), Sierra Nevada, California. The data is self-explanatory, with a Readme file containing site information including full names and geographic locations. It is recommended that any users who want to incorporate the data into their own studies consult with the author (Fengjing Liu at fliu7@mtu.edu) to see if similar studies are being conducted by the author and others.

The data set is basically self-explanatory, with all columns explained below:
Column 1: Full site name
Column 2: Site name abbreviations or acronyms
Column 3: Date
Column 4: Delta 18O values of water
Column 5: Delta 2H values of water

Full site names, abbreviations/acronyms, sample types, and geographic information (latitude, longitude, and elevation above sea level) are included as a spreadsheet (named "ReadMe" in the Excel data file).
